I have to imagine these are hard to get, especially for this price. http://greenville.craigslist.org/mcy/4762543190.html I think those are for the even more rare RSL model, so they might have even more value. (I seem to recall Tim sharing stats on the relative numbers of RS's and RSL's, and the RSL's were much smaller. But I could be wrong... ) Link to comment

vbxt
Ok, maybe a deal if you need the parts. I'm always browsing the local Craigslist for a replacement for my 2000 R1100RT, and I came across this today. It looks like all the parts on the bike are serviceable but the front end. roadscholar
You should buy this Bill! Or, maybe Edd should get it for Todd. Too many toys, although it is tempting. I had a red one of these in 1963 (50 Sport-CB110?) and a couple riding buddies with white and blue ones, a real gang! Every Saturday we'd ride all over Volusia County and once in awhile down Main St. The Harley guys wouldn't even look at us. Link to comment

When the R 1200 RT's came out, some folks said the same thing as it was such a harsh change in style from the Oilhead RT's. But over time, opinions changed as it became obvious it was such a vast improvement. But then again, I'm biased as I'm currently riding my 3rd Oilhead RT. Link to comment

But since Nancy has no interest in riding, I don't think it is fair to her to spend 20K on something only I would enjoy. OTHO perhaps my current ride is more than sufficient for my abilities? I mean, it's ugly and probably horribly unsafe, but man I still want to see how it drives (rides?). At first I thought the back deck had a solar panel but that must be some sort of mesh engine cover? I don't know - looks like the builder had a lot of ideas and decided to try them all out at once. I don't know why id ever want to, but I have to give credit - I wish I was smart enough to figure out how to put an engine in a truck bed.... Link to comment
