Craigslist find of the day

It often seems that people have done zero work in the way of trying to find out a realistic asking price.

When I was searching for my EX650 there was a lady in Colorado who had bought one for her husband (who really wanted a cruiser). She was asking $10,000 for a used 2013 bike at the same time a new 2014 could be picked up at any dealer for $7400. :dopeslap:

It's a steal for $3500-4000 though.

He said it comes with a lot of extras - maybe one of the extras is a second, matching, bike; then the price would be quite reasonable.

Also, as a slight hijack - he says it has a 7.2 gallon tank; do I really have (I have the same bike, essentially) that many gallons? I think of it as being six point something...

I thought the 1100s were 7.1?

The BMW specs for the R1100RT list a fuel capacity of 26 liters. Google calculates that this is the equivalent of 6.86847 gallons.

I think 2 decimal places would have done the trick Glenn. :dopeslap::rofl:

You know better than to trust Google with actual data. ;)

Tim,

Well I certainly don't have the years of experience that you do with the marque, so I would certainly defer to your well earned knowledge. I was just going off the spec sheet, and we know those have a tendency to stretch the truth. :)

Shawn,

Weren't you the one stressing the difference between 900 miles and 911 miles when you shredded that Conti at START?

Yeah, I was gonna say proceed with caution on that one but, figured most people understood the old saying.

"if it looks too good"

I like the way they textured the bags, and the paint scheme is nice except for the lightening bolts. Those make it a bit too busy and don't seem to fit it all that well.

Ah, go ahead and buy it; I'll keep it in the garage for you until you can pick it up. (Well, I'll keep it in the garage between "battery charging" sessions...)
