Electrical question

Installed Motolights today on 05 R1200RT..Wanted to use 12V switched power at back of bike. Found two unused plugs underneath the pillion seat. One was a two wire plug and the other was a 6 - 7 wire plug. I checked wires on both plugs and found switched power on each one. However, once the switch was turned on and power went to the wires the current continued to flow and my test light remained lit even after the switch was turned off..It did not stop even after the one minute delay that the emergency flasher switch remains lit..In other words once the current was flowing it continued to draw power no matter how long I waited after the switch was turned off..Is this normal?

The green wire on the round service plug is a safe to use switched power source that goes out as soon as you turn off the key.

I am using it on my GS, and it is the same onthe RT.
