AlleyCat
I am in the process of stripping and repainting my GS gas tank. All is going fairly well however I have noticed that the coating inside the tank is flaking in a few areas, no visable rust. Anyone got an idea what the inside of the tank is coated with....and how the best way to repair the flaking? I have ask several paint supply companies and they haven't a clue. Thanks Link to comment
FrankT
I've re-lined a couple of airhead tanks over the years with a gas tank liner I bought from a local radiator shop. I still have one and the liner has held up geat for over ten years. None of the tanks had rust but just had lining flaking in some areas which is what yours sound like. There is also a product called Kreem on the market which is a two part application, first cleaner, then liner. Link to comment
bmuuEd
I don't recall the name of the other liner, but it works much better than the Kream brand. Think it's red in color. Link to comment
