Urban Surfer
The specs call for .25 of a liter to fill the final drive. But the shop manual tell me to fill it to the bottom of the threads in the filler hole. I did that and it took about 30% more oil. Which one is right? Link to comment
KMG_365
If you look into the threaded hole you'll see a tang inside at about 7:00. That's the "bottom of the threads" they mean, and you'll find it'll take about 250ml to get to the bottom of it. If you fill it to the "bottom of the threads" that the plug screws into you run the risk (in certain riding and elevation change conditions . . . like Death Valley!) of the expansion causing oil to "burp" out the vent hole on top of the FD.
