jbr7t Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 So, being the cheap bastard that I am, I am trying to make my Garmin Nuvi 265W work for bike use. I've gotten the charging issues figured out, gotten the mounting issues figured out. However, I can't figure out how to make routes aside from the type in destination and let it "calculate". I've downloaded Garmin's BaseCamp program and also had someone send me an already created route. I can't seem to create new routes in basecamp and when I try to load the already created route it just puts it in as a bunch of destinations that you'd have to select individually. Anybody tried this or have any ideas how to make it work? Or maybe the Nuvi just won't do this type of operation?
marcopolo Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 If you look at the unit's specs on Garmin's website, under Maps and Memory you'll find the listing for Routes. Beside that you'll see that it's zero. So, presumably, you cannot upload any routes to the unit from Basecamp (or anywhere else). https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=35586&ra=true
elkroeger Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I've got a different model nuvi (500). There's a "custom routes" button where you can create and save your own routes with whatever via points you like. Surely there's a custom route option on yours....
