UberXY Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Someone posted this invoice recently. Check out the price of oil under Major Service section.
4wheeldog Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I would think that would have to be transmission fluid. That sounds like about 3 100% mark ups.
OoPEZoO Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Where do you put 12 quarts of it? I don't know much about Range Rovers, but it could be a diesel. I see the '10+ L322 models have an optional 4.4L TD motor under the hood. 12 qt capacity there wouldn't surprise me. As far as the price.......WOW!
Mike Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I wonder if the $46.44 wasn't supposed to be for the full complement of oil for that model, and was mistakenly entered multiple times. I recall being invoiced for oil at a single unit price for the entire fill capacity of vehicles I've owned.

If you look at the invoice item for the "maintenance kit," "911-100-956-05" appears in the item number, indicating this is for service on a Porsche 911. Some 911s require 12 quarts to fill. The cost for the oil is still way out of whack.
smiller Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Your oil probably comes from the same place where brake fluid costs $38.96.
Quinn Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 What oil is worth $45/qt? That would be Land Rover oil. -------

Some 911s require 12 quarts to fill. Correct, it's a maintenance kit for a 3.2 liter 911 engine, air-cooled, 1984-1989, and takes exactly 12 quarts. Would like to believe the oil price is a mistake (oddly though the mistake always seems to be in their favor). MO20W50 could refer to Motul synthetic, they have a 300V specifically for racing and track work and comes in a 2 liter container (about $30), so could have been a conversion mixup. And the tech putting it in might've had a few left over for his race car, or lawnmower. BTW, in reference to the $39.00 brake fluid, the fill capacity is one liter, some HI-PO brake fluids are $75./liter.
KTM Doug Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 WOW! And I thought the Joe Gibbs Hot Rod synthetic oil I have been using is bad at $10.75/qt.
philbytx Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 That'll teach you to buy an Indian car.........
elkroeger Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Must be 46 Pesos per quart. That makes about $3.50 USD each. Not a bad price after all...
