Just want to recognize snd thank the admin team for jumping on top of and kiling the pop-ups, which were quickly becoming an irritant. And on a Sunday morning, no less. Nice to have such a responsive and capable crew keeping the order quietly in the background of this extremely valuable forum.

I'm always glad to accept credit for the work of others( ) , but all I did was post an announcement after pretty much everyone else on the admin team had noted the problem and started the wheels in motion to fix it. I was literally snoozing (a rainy Sunday) while the others were responding to the situation.

 

The real hero was Matt (bakersdozen), whose technical expertise is a huge part of why this discussion board runs so smoothly. The underlying problem was a vulnerability in our discussion board software. Matt figured out how to clean it up and keep it running with the cyber-equivalent of baling wire and duct tape. Not in a million years could I have done what he did.

 

One thing that users seldom see is the constant effort to gain access to the website for the purpose of inserting spam and doing other nefarious deeds. All the admins have a role in this . . . when we're not asleep on a rainy Sunday morning.
