jimbullitt Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Finally took delivery, yesterday morning. I have a 2012 dark blue, K1600GTL, in the garage. The whole process, has somewhat consumed me for nearly two months.. Riding it yesterday, was pretty..well, badass! I could also see, where I will make a few changes-not unlike, alot of others, that have personalized/customized their ride, to their individual tastes/needs. I will use the stock seat, for awhile, but can see the wisdom in a Corbin replacement. I also can tell that I will probably install the engine guards/highway pegs combo, as well as some floorboards? At the very least I would opt to move the footpegs, slightly lower, and a little more forward.. I will probably do the third brakelight/l.e.d. lightbar, in the topbox.. The lighting, at night, is really impressive-the best I have ever had, in any motorcycle! The power, and the handling, are superb. My Wife was a little concerned, that she had not set on it, and given it her, 'official', thumbs up, and I told her not to worry-I fully expect that she will be plenty comfortable! Looking forward, to miles of smiles, and now being a BMW owner!
Hookman Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Congratulations on the new purchase, the wife will love it. You can make her scream like a little girl again.
EffBee Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Most of the complaints I've heard about the K16 center around the inability to disconnect the rev limiter that hits the rider on the back of the helmet every time the throttle gets whacked open. Most annoying. Congratulations. Many happy miles to both of you.
