whalerautumn Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Well, after six years on this forum and probably forty buy and sell transactions, I have finally found someone lacking in integrity enough to stiff me. In most of my transactions on this forum I have shipped and received items with nothing more than a cyber-handshake. In this case, however, due to cost of items, I required payment for item before shipping with remainder (shipping) due upon receipt. It is now several months later and emails and phone calls are ignored. I am not a person who will allow this to change my belief in others though, and I will continue to conduct my dealings with others in the manner used in the past. It will undoubtedly cost the other party to the transaction more than my cost of shipping. Seems like people like that attract their own destiny. Just needed to vent. Larry
Bud Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Larry, Like you I've had many successful transactions with BMW owners. A guy shipped me a tank bag Saturday and I haven't even paid him yet. I agree with you, what goes round comes round and karma is a bitch. They will reap what they sow. Understand the need to vent.
Rinkydink Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Seems I've seen quite a few sellers that are brand new with only 1 post under their belts. this is certainly a red flag to me... Buy something from Paul or Dirtrider and you'll be good as new. Just joking...
majrosebud Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Wow, that'll take the winds out of your sail. In cases like this, would it be appropriate to mention the persons name? Probably not, but just asking.. I'd hate to take a chance on selling something to this dirtbag.
Roadwolf Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Look at his posts in the classified section and you may have good idea if who it is (not 100% certain, but could be)
whalerautumn Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Ok, thank goodness there is an emoticon for embarrassment. After going back through my posts, I find that this was not a deal from this forum but a deal from ebay. The rest of the story is that I sold a set of Ohlins to a guy in Canada, jumped through all of the hoops to get them delivered there expediently with shipping cost around a hundred dollars, and am out the shipping costs only. Can not find the guy in the database here. I don't know what I was thinking. No one here would do something like that. Larry
Mike Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 No one here would do something like that. Absolutely not. We've carefully vetted each of our 22,367 members.
Quinn Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 A Canadian, huh? And you can't even shoot him. ------
