Francois_Dumas Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Haven't visited here much, due to a chronic and ever-increasing lack of time between my 4 jobs, Facebook and the few hours sleep every night...... but..... wanted to share this with you here: coming Sunday we will pick up our new-to-us 2006 1200 GS at our friend's place...... in the horrible location of Cannes, Côte d'Azur ! Will hopefully have some time to post ride tales, assuming all bits of the current puzzle come together..... Another reason I wanted to share this is the fact that I was always miffed by my American friends buying their bikes thousands of miles away, while we ONLY buy anything around the corner in Europe. Well, this bike will take us 1700 km to get it..... how's that for adapting ?? More news next week I hope ! Cheerio !
Guest Kakugo Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I assume it's a French-spec bike... The farthest I bought I bike from was about 500km away. Never again as down there their standards of "keeping a bike in good conditions" are rather different from ours.

Kathy R Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Way to go Francois and Nina. I can't wait to see that bike and to see more of your travels in Europe.
tallman Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 TTIWWP You do know how to take pictures, right? Hope it is a great addition for y'all.

Nope, this one is a UK spec bike...... freshly registered French a few days ago. And the 100HP limit has been removed again, although I think that law change still has to be effected officially. Something to do with 'EU' I believe Photos as soon as we've picked it up......
jimbullitt Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Congratulations! Isn't part of the "adventure", the trip to take delivery?
Fubar Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Sorry you have to slog out of such a despicable part of France but at least the ride will be some compensation. Congrats and many happy miles, Francois.
