Jack Molan Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Well we leave this Wendsday and spend a day with Steve Prokop getting new Wibur adjustable shocks set up. We bomb up to Bellingham for family, then, we are wide open to any good roads going east and south to the SLC Utah area about 6 riding days, plan on small hotel stuff. Open to any suggestions, We have done the Lolo, but would do it again in a heart beat. I will divert any amount reasonable to ride a memorable road. It's the ride I love. The ride! As a side note, I stumbled on Lolo in 1974 on a Vespa 125. I did 7 states, 3k miles, and crossed the Rockies 3 times on that epic trip. At 19 years old, I was a free as a bird could be then....:-)
hopz Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 After Lolo... when you get to the town of Lolo, head south on 93 toward/to Salmon, ID. A great ride. Once At Salmon you have some good choices. We prefer staying right at Chalis on 75 and go to Stanley, Ketchum etc to Twin Falls. At Twin Falls you pick up I-84 I -15 etc into SLC. Another option is to divert off 93 at the crest of the ridge (highest point) to the East on 43... work your way East ward, Go through West Yellowstaone, down to Jackson etc... gets you to Utah with a good ride all the way. Unfortunately we will leaving home, in SLC, on this Friday to go north. Will be gone as you work your way in this direction... will not return until afterwards and our travel is without a schedule so cannot say when we will be back.
Jack Molan Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Have printed this off, thanks so much Jack
TracyMurphy Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 You could leave Bellingham and go catch 20 to 97 up to Omak. Take the Columbia River road South past Omak Lake and East to 155. Continue on BIA Rd 113/Cache Rd to 21. Take 21 North to Co Hwy 2/Bridge Creek Rd and go East through Inchellum to the Ferry Crossing. Take 25 North to Addy-Gifford Rd and go East to Addy. Take 395 South to Chewelah. Take Main St out of town east and hit CO Hwy 2902/Flowery Trail Rd over to 20. From there you can hit Sandpoint Id. Hope this makes sense.
