Will a 190/55-17 PR-2 fit my '05 RT?

Local dealer is closing and has a good price on the above tire. I want PR2's but they only had a front.

 

Can I spoon on the 190 without interferance, or bending my tire irons?

Yes, you can fit a 190/55 tyre on a 5.5" rim.

However my track experience tell me this is a very poor choice: reduced stability at lean, too much stress on front tyre etc not to mention the tyre will be "pinched" to fit the narrower canal.

The exception is the new Dunlop D211GP which was designed specifically to be run on 5.5" rims on 600 Super Sports machines (it's the control tyre in AMA).
