Took my 1200 st out for a blast today. Did 221miles with, according to the trip 24miles worth of fuel left,I don't know how accurate the estimated fuel to empty information is,maybe one of you guys can enlighten me?

I'm impressed with the range though. This means I can strike Kirkby Lonsdale and get my crew back to Blighty with one tank.

Sorry about the bomber references, but whenever I give the bike some welly the engine note reminds me of an aircraft, bit sad but I love it

I don't trust it at all! When I fill up my R1200RT, it tells me I have some 220 miles to go (I know I can get over 250 miles). When I'm 2/3 to 3/4 to empty, it tells me I still have over 100 miles to go! :S

Based on my R1100RT, I know I can go at least 250 miles. I haven't yet figured out how much more I can count on with the 2012 1200.

In THEORY, on my R1200RT, the low fuel warning comes on when I am down to 1 gallon, which means about 45-50 miles before I'm pushing the beast.

If I filled up when the alarm first came on, I would need right at 6.xx gallons on a 7.3 gallon tank, so pretty much on the nose.

That was great until I had a fuel strip failure and ran out of gas when it showed I had 1/4 tank and 80 miles to go. Luckily I was in town and not in the middle of nowhere.

Lesson learned. Now I ALWAYS will reset and rely only on my trip odometer.

225 to 250 and fill up.

At the end of every commuting week I fill up the tank with at least 300 miles on the trip odometer, it's been that way for 6 years.

I ran out of gas on my 1200rt, the computer said I had 20 miles to empty... it was a long 2 mile walk round trip to and from the gas station..

On my R1200ST, I never got more than 225 miles per tank. When the countdown shows zero, it stops. DAMHIKT.
