noel Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 As some of you already know, I have purchased a Can-Am Spyder for Karen. A 2012 RS-S Neutron Green ... pic ... All this was done without her knowledge... or at least as far as I know. This color combination was her favorite and the test ride sold her on getting one. As she is not comfortable being on 2 wheels yet, I believe that this is a good compromise for the time being. Tomorrow, I will be flying to Dallas to pick it up and ride it back to OKC. It will be stored overnight at a fellow rider's place and sneaked into the garage the following day while we are at church and have a big red bow placed on the front trunk. I will fake a garage opener malfunction for her to have to punch in the code to the garage to reveal her ride. I had to tell her a white lie saying that I will be out for a group ride and will be back later in the day just so that I can go pick it up. The bike is unwashed since the UN so that she can't tell the difference that it was sitting at Bill's garage while I fly down to pick up her bike. So there, the rest of you now know the surprise I have in store for her. Cheers.
OoPEZoO Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Coooooool It was awesome meeting you guys last week. Hope to see you both soon.......on two wheels, or three
SageRider Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012  I hope somehow you will manage to have a camera handy to record the scene!
noel Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks Keith. It was definitely nice to finally meet you.
Kathy R Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Noel, this is just TOO COOL! I really hope to see a photo of Karen when you surprise her!
noel Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Yes, exactly like it. Just that her's will have a HUGE RED BOW! She works very hard and this is something she has talked about quite a bit and even have it on her computer screen.
noel Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Hi Michael, It will be hard to get neighbors to come out in Oklahoma heat to video or snap pics. Besides, it will easily give the surprise away. I will have to figure something else out. Like start carrying the small camera everywhere for those just in case moments so that she doesn't get suspicious. She is simply tired of having the back of my helmet as her view while on the road.
noel Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks Kathy! I need to get the camera ready without her seeing it. Gonna get interesting as the situation will unfold rather quickly and I just have to be ready for it.
Kathy R Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Enjoy the moment and then recreate it, taking a photo. We'll never know. Ssshhhhh
Mrs. Caddis Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Noel, I'm so excited for you both. It was nice meeting you in Salida and hope to see both of you again soon.
SageRider Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Shhhhh!!!!!! Noel is still receiving his thanks!!!! . . . . . . . . I hope...
noel Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 SHE LOVES IT! SHE LOVES IT! SHE LOVES IT! I suppose I did good? It was such a good surprise that she jumped backwards in surprise/shock... She is, however, a little disappointed that she has to work late today due to month end close this week and therefore no riding but otherwise she's very excited. Next, getting her motorcycle endorsement. I'll have pics tomorrow. Been busy myself. Cheers.
PhilipJCaputo Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012  well done! Time to get those rider to rider intercoms ready to go :-)

Hope she loves riding it and you two get lots of (s)miles in together.
Sonor Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 So I must be the only one with this question but, WHO IS KAREN? I trust she is your wife. If not, don't let your wife read this thread!!! :-) Seriously, that is just TOO COOL of you to do and for her to enjoy so much. Great work!!
