Paul Mihalka Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Is that Bob timing how long the loading takes?
hopz Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Well done you, Michael... great photos. I have to say that loading that V-Strom was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It left me almost speechless. Very brave way to do that.
Kathy R Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 You did a great job capturing folks, Michael. I'll admit I wasn't sure about the Wee load, but with Pat handling it I figured it's going to work I wished I'd gotten a photo of Whip and Biff in the back seat.
SageRider Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks! Unfortunately, a great deal of my shots were not acceptable. When one buys a camera the day before the event, one pays the penalty for not reading the manual!!!!! That as many shots turned out as well as they did is a tribute to the camera's default automatic exposure setup. (Olympus E-PM1 (micro 4/3)with 14-42mm lens). I think I have finally found a camera compact enough for packing on my rides that can produce the sort of shots I desire. (Me actually being able to take the shots is another matter...) As far as the Wee-Load, Pat ought to give lessons...
Lone_RT_rider Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Colorado has some of the best roads in the Nation. At this Un-Rally, did anyone actually ride on any of them?
lawnchairboy Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 yes, 62, 50, 550, 145, 149 on the GS, and other asphalt
scout6 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Nice shots. Thanks for sharing. Sue is home safe and the bike is going onto the lift so parts can be set to Jesse.
eddd Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Nice pics. The new camera looks like it was a good purchase.
norah Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks for sharing Mike!!! Looks like everyone had a great time.
Bob Palin Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I have to say that loading that V-Strom was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It left me almost speechless. Very brave way to do that. If only unloading it had been so uneventful...
eddd Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I have to say that loading that V-Strom was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It left me almost speechless. Very brave way to do that. If only unloading it had been so uneventful... Lower tailgate, attach rope to bike, attach other end to power pole in yard, drive forward quickly. How hard can that be?

Very funny!
algover Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 We thought 9 was beautiful also. Thanks for the pix, Mike.
roadscholar Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I have to say that loading that V-Strom was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It left me almost speechless. Very brave way to do that. After spending two days on the trail with Pat and Keith I knew either one of them could pull that off, Keith just happened to be next door at the pub, not that there's anything wrong with that : ) Four attributes required, strength (did you see the biceps on that guy), coordination, confidence, and the fact he's a great guy. Thanks again Pat. Speaking of confidence, here's another gravity-defying feat, Mikko loading his 12GS in a truck. Too slow, bad result, too fast, very bad result. And don't forget to duck.
Bob Palin Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Four attributes required, strength (did you see the biceps on that guy), coordination, confidence, and the fact he's a great guy. Perhaps I should find a way to ride the VStrom to Eddd's rather than try to reload it into the truck...

Albert Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Well done you, Michael... great photos. I have to say that loading that V-Strom was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It left me almost speechless. Very brave way to do that. Judging by the picture, Bob had a bungee cord ready. What could go wrong?
PhillyFlash Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Colorado has some of the best roads in the Nation. At this Un-Rally, did anyone actually ride on any of them? Not me.
JustJean Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Where was that prairie dog? He was adorable and you are the second one who took a picture of him. BTW nice pics!
Endobob Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Nice picks - you captured the "love" and "fellowship" at these BMWST events!
SageRider Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Prarie dog was at the top of Marshall Pass. The group stopped there for pictures of the sign and surrounding areas. The Prarie dog was very curious and kept popping it's head up to check us out. I was about 3 feet away when I took the picture...
