azccj Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hex Code just released the their new Beta Version 1207.5. The nice thing about this version is that it now includes: "Adding Integral (servo) ABS functionality (for 1150and non-CAN K1200): ABS Bleed Tests, Status, Output Tests, Sensor Drift Test". This is the first version that has ABS Tests for the iABS system found on the R1150 Bikes. When I first got notice of this version, yesterday, I attempted to load it onto my net book running windows XP, which I have been using with the GS 911 since getting it last year. But version 1207.4 would not load right. I sent Hex Code a message today and 6 hours later I got an email back telling me they fixed the problem and the new latest version is 1207.5. Now that is fast customer service. Loaded the latest version and it appears to work just haven't had a chance to hook it up to the bike yet.
BMW_Ken Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Let us know how it works on the bike when you get a chance to run the new bleed tests, etc. I've been hoping they would add this functionality.
roger 04 rt Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Thanks for spreading the word and helping to get it fixed.
Stan Walker Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Now if it would only work with an iPhone...... Stan

I just tried it out. Very sharp. It will now do bleed test, test the brake lights, test the pressure sensors and show the status of both the front and rear brake circuits. Just what I've been waiting for.
roger 04 rt Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I downloaded and ran it too. This is a big package of functionality at no cost. Hexcode is doing a great job. They just added Adaptation Value reset for one bike. Maybe more to come. This pretty much certifies that there are Closed Loop long term trims that get applied to the Open Loop fueling tables.

They really are a great company. They tell you right up front when you buy the GS 911 that they may in the future charge for yearly updates, but they never do. They just keep on improving the GS 911 and what it can do, free of charge, even on older BMW models.

Stan That will never happen, as greedy Apple wants a piece of the pie for every user downloading an APP. Get a Droid It's not even the app cost - after all, it's only a few $, there is more. A peripheral device that connects to Apple iOS devices over Bluetooth must license and use Apple Accessory Protocol to communicate. Furthermore, Apple also requires an Apple specific authentication co-processor (ID chip) installed in the peripheral. I did not look into requirements for wired (USB) connection, but quite likely these are similar. Needless to say, a small boutique manufacturer like Hexcode cannot well afford the cost of extra hardware and licensing, not to mention software development, to make the device work on an iPhone - without making the GS911 prohibitively expensive. Especially so, since there are plenty of other choices: mobiles running Android or simply laptop computers. Hex did a lot of work developing interfaces for Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian (via Java), Blackberry. I am not saying that Apple's policies are predatory, but - after all- they did not become biggest company by chance. So, Dave is right.
