Tuesday, I took it easy, heading over to UN central on 50 in Salida proper.

On wednesday, Jan and sagerider and tewks and roger and keith and I all headed over for the marshall pass road, me for the second time, a nice road, lots of livestock today.

Sage about 5 minutes before picking up something in his rear tire:

I like that road. Ended up running back to Salida to pick up the truck to rescue Sagerider and returning to UN base. After that, did some more biking, went into town, by the boathouse restaurant and over the river to the hill over town with the Big "S" on it where there were some nice maintained trails.

Unfortunately, a lady in a Jeep Grand Cherokee managed to put me off my bicycle in the 7-eleven parking lot around the corner from the UN headquarters, hurt my pride and my ribs a bit. I am feeling better now. She didn't stop.

Wednesday evening, it was nice to bump into Big-T and friend who were in Northern New Mexico riding the CDT. Suggesting a friendly ride in the morrow', I make Big T aware I have had a big riding week and don't think I am up for a Big T goat path ride. He responded that there were only a few rocks for a short stretch on Tomichi pass but the 1/2 mile of baby heads on hancock pass sounded less appealing to me so on thursday, we headed over to Tomichi pass road.

road was a generous description.

we started by going over old monarch pass, I finally got over this one, I had been derailed on this trip and one other trip from going over this pass but I made it this time:

I don't have any pictures of the alleged "road" up to tomichi pass. I was too busy trying not to take out my engine case on boulders or eat dirt. Hands down the most technical and rocky off road riding I have ever attempted, and may ever attempt. The DR took a couple of naps on the way up and down this pass but it sure was beautiful at the top:

Looking back up the hill after the DR took a nap, very steep here:

The DR was flawless. Got to ride big-t's wr 250 and had fun on the way back to salida, totally exhausted at this point, in a good way.

last chapter ahead....

MAN, your photos allow me to be at the UN of my dreams.

What an epic trip you had, all the way around.

Wish I could thump on the lady who tapped you.

Chris was easy,

I would post the other picture of him when We asked him if he wanted to go back across Tomechi on the way back, but this is a family site and I don't think the gesture would be appreciated...

Great job Chris.
