DGuy Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Ohlins shocks need rebuilding, any suggestions as to where I might take them here in San Diego? 90k miles and they are pretty much not doing the job any longer...
Guest Kakugo Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Remove them from bike, put them in a box and send them to Dan Kyle. Enough said.
DGuy Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 OK guys I got the picture...have contacted Dan about the rebuild. Thanks!!
Tool Man Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Yep... and tell em I sent ya.... he'll charge double for that.
DGuy Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 My experience with Dan Kyle was not positive; I cannot recommend him. In short he is very unprofessional; left me disappointed and disgusted.

If your just looking for a refresh and service I use a independent shop in Poway. Talk to Bill Cain at Poway Cycle. They do excellent work at a fair price and are local. They also do can do different setups as far as valving , spring rates but if you just want to refresh the shocks they can help you. phone is 858-748-6811. They are also a Ohlin/Wilbers/Penske shock dealer.

I'll be looking into them, too, since my Ohlins need rebuilding. Local is nice.

I have been using Bill and Bud for work on my suspension and work on my bikes that I could not do since 1998. They are always wiling to take that extra time to talk and answer any questions and make suggestions if they think something will work better. Tell them Bob Johnson said hi. Since I have gone to the BMW twin I am doing almost all of my own work but I do need to get the wilbers shocks in for service.
