biometrics Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I just came across this excellent pictoral on this process and even though I don't expect my pivot bearings will need replacing, these instructions are certainly helpful with my final drive repair (see my "wrench size" thread)... Thought I would pass on the link for others in this predicament : http://rvbprecision.com/motorcycles/bmw-pivot-bearing-replacement.html
David13 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Thanks Bio. That is a good pictorial. I'm going to have to do that with my bike. dc
Drufus Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Nice find. Now I just need one on the front pivot bearings on the other end of the swingarm. I think those are the cause of an awful squeeking noise my bike is making.
Selden Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Great pictorial; I wish I had been able to read this before I replaced these bearings a few years ago. This web page also prints well, so I saved a copy as a PDF, which is now available on my Google Drive account.
