RTinNC
OK ... it seems like similar topics have been posted but simply put I just sold my 2002 R1150GS and plan to replace it with a 1200GS. I also have a 2006 R1200RT and really like it and have had no issues. So wondering if there is any benefit in buying a 2010 or later GS or looking for a clean 2008/2009 Hexhead GS. If it matters most service is done by the dealer except of oil changes. Thanks in advance! p.s. It was THIS site in 2000 that convinced me to buy a RT versus a Honda ST1100! Link to comment
Highway41
Having had both, get the Camhead. You will not regret it. More go, better sound, and my valves are still very quiet at 32k Miles. Bill Link to comment
RTinNC
Thanks Bill! Is the 6000 mile service cost about the same? I do the Oil and such but have the dealer do the valves and TB's. I have heard the 6K services are check first and if OK then go no further? Link to comment

Guest Kakugo
Buy an Hexhead now, then in a couple of years, get a Camhead: with the new water cooled boxer coming out next year prices are bound to drop. No point buying now when second hand values are still high. Link to comment
Highway41
Service costs are about the same even though they have not adjusted the valves. Bill Link to comment
