Whip Posted April 13, 2012 Share Posted April 13, 2012 After 4 years and 50,000 fun filled miles(not all of em up right) on my 950 ADV I felt it was time for a change. I was thinking about going to a K bike because I really liked the one I had and I already have a 1150 GS ADV. BUT before I went to the dark side I had to find out if the 990 ADV was THAT big of an improvement over my 950 ADV. BABY!...I fell in love in less than 5 minutes. With most bikes you removed the old oil from the bike and put the new oil back. With the 950/990 ADV you remove the bike from the oil and build the bike back up around the new oil. But it is worth it. You are welcome to take it for a ride at Torrey. Link to comment

I think the oil change on the 990 is almost as easy peasy as the GS, almost. Certainly not hard or time intensive. You must be using the owner's manual. Good for you, bro'.
