markgoodrich
Yikes. http://tinyurl.com/734b5ux All that money, plus restaurants, tickets, ad nauseum, and there's one road in/out; prolly spend six-seven hours just getting to and from the course. Might as well charter a copter, too. Am sorta glad I (so far) don't follow F1. Link to comment

CoarsegoldKid
... there's one road in/out; prolly spend six-seven hours just getting to and from the course. The F1 followers have been complaining about this for a year now. It's gonna be like the early days at Laguna Seca. One big grade "A" Fluster-Cuck Link to comment

RonStewart
Laguna Seca has gotten better? Getting out seemed much worse in 2005 than 88 or 89. Or Joe, do you mean it has gotten better since 2005? I recall driving back to the hotel in Orlando after the rain-shortened 2003 Daytona 500, after waiting for nearly an hour for a bus and then walking about a half-mile through the muddy fields to our car. It took another hour to get up to highway speed. The wife said that if we had needed to go back on Monday to see the end of the race, she would have cried. Link to comment
dba
My son and I plan on going. We have a room and a rental car reserved in San Antonio. We stayed there last year when my son’s best friend graduated from USAF Basic Training. When I tried to book rooms in Austin as soon as the chain hotels would let me, the prices were ridiculous. That’s commerce and I understand but $875 for a room at a Hampton Inn? We’ll get up early on race day and be prepared for the lunacy! Link to comment
