roger 04 rt
All seems normal with my clutch, but I've started to realize that you don't have to pull it in far to get it to disengage, no more than 1/3 of the way. Is this the norm on this model? Link to comment
dirtrider
Morning Roger Pretty normal. The 1150RT's have a hydraulic clutch system that runs real close to 0 lash. That usually means engagement a bit farther out on the lever travel & less pull in for release. The engagement/disengagement also seems to move out away from the bar a bit as the clutch disk wears in & wears thinner. There is a numbered wheel on the lever to allow some tuning of the lever position in relation to engagement/disengagement. You can always remove that little spool wheel & file the stop off to get one more lower lever position than is available in stock form. Link to comment
roger 04 rt
Many thanks DR. As I thought through how the clutch (which I haven't had apart) would work, I envisioned it actuating without play as soon as there was pressure on the master cylinder ... and I understand your wear comment. However, with all the Slave cylinder and spline issues, I wanted some reassurance which you've provided. RB Link to comment
