BerndM
OK,, I have searched unsuccessfully to find the answer to this seemingly simple question. How does the fuel get moved from the right side to the left side of the tank where the pump is? Thanks! Link to comment
dirtrider
Afternoon Bernd On the RT (not the GSA) Most just sloshes over while riding/ leaning the bike. If just ridden straight up until it runs out of fuel then some is left in the R/H side. Kind of a secret (but small) reserve. Link to comment

Stop, lean way over to the left, another ten, twenty miles, easy. Well, not easy; nervous. Link to comment
BerndM
Hmmm, very interesting. Imagine a super techy outfit like BMW resorting to using Mother Nature to do it's work. Smart actually. I guess the depth of the tank on the right must be a LOT less than the left side, probably because of the air intake. Thanks for the info guys! Link to comment
johnlt
The old airheads have a petcock on each side along with a balance tube so you can get the very last drop. Link to comment

It should be noted that periodical maintenance should include removal of tank (when "empty"),petcocks removed, and tank dumped out to rid pockets of water that accumulate at bottom of each side. lkchris
Smart actually. Watch out or you'll hear "eco-friendly" or "sustainable." Link to comment
