blkvelvt
The latch is toast and multiple dealers said to cut it open and throw it away. Is this the only option? Buy another sidebag? Link to comment

dirtrider
Morning Blkvelvt I don't know what's wrong with your broken latch (need more info) Maybe this old thread will help you figure it out. http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=749258&page=1 Link to comment
Dan5620
Given this detailed description, I'd recommend putting "latch jelly" on it. Link to comment
blkvelvt
When you push the button down, The latch pops up 90 degrees to the OML surface of the bag. Internal mechnism is no longer attached to the latch. Bag is sealed up closed tighter than a bulls butt. Link to comment
TeSmSp
You can probably remove the hinge screws, lift the cover a bit to retrieve the contents (if possible) and perhaps rock the cover left right to see if it unlatches for the top. Link to comment
