David13
No. No thought of food here. They are too civilized. Watch the body language. The dolphins make a friendly, closed mouth approach to the cat. They recognize him as part of the human pack, albeit a very small member. The dolphins are well fed, and not at all hungry. Except for one, who opens his mouth, not toward the cat, but toward the humans, only because he has been conditioned like a Pavlov dog that humans will throw a fish into his open mouth. He opens his mouth in a gesture that says, 'hey, toss a fish right in here', 'get one of your fish and toss it down the hatch here.' He does that more of conditioning, rather than hunger. The cat uses a paw with no claws, a friendly touch to the nose, and then rubs on the dolphin. The cat is also well fed, and not hungry, and just relates with friendly curiosity to the dolphin. dc Link to comment
