Alfred02
Traded in my 2004 1150RT (ashtray was full, bike now ran brilliant) for a 09-2005 1200RT. After seeing and hearing the bike, my local dealer made me a trade-in offer I just couldn't refuse. Now starting basically from scratch, I am looking for all the basic info. Surprisingly, there seems to be far less direct info for the 1200RT on the Internet then there is for the 1100/1150RT. So I am trying to chase up: 1) Factory Workshop manual (hopefully in PDF form) 2) Electrical wiring diagram 3) Basic info where to get maintenance parts 4) How to's...valve adjustment/synchro/body panel removal..... Any links would be appreciated. Link to comment
w2ge
Jim Bade has service DVD's... http://www.jimvonbaden.com/R1200.html Lots get their parts from Beemerboneyard. http://www.beemerboneyard.com/ The other two... I''m sure DR and others, will have an answer. Not sure about their shipping policies to Australia. Link to comment
Dave Glen
G'day Alfred, The maintenance CD is available from Motobins in the UK, I can email you a copy of the wiring diagram, I get my consumable parts (oil/air filters) from Southbank Motors in Melbourne But it might be worth trying Munich motorcycles in West Aussie. My 2005 R1200RT has done 140,000 klms. I had the final drive reconditioned at 134,000 klm, new bearings and seals, no other problems. Regards dave THE bastard Link to comment
David13
They are shipping the Harmonizer to Australia; check for it on Advrider. Grok there sells it, from Folsom, the city, not the prison. This is a new device and it appears to be about the best, fastest and easiest way to balance the tbis. You will also find a great deal of info on maintenance on the 1200s there, including much participation by Jim Von Baden. Or post here. dc Link to comment
Alfred02
Hi Phil Got all the DVD's, as most overlap from 1100/1150/1200 I will have to order parts from Beemerboneyard for the 1200. Dave Thanks for the link to Moto-bins as they have the proper workshop manual on CD, will order it now. Hoping that mine will run trouble free as long as yours has. Hi David Already got the Harmonizer, it's one of the tools I used, to get the 1150RT running so well. :-) I am just collecting as much info and sources as possible, just like I did with the 1150RT. So thanks for all the links proved so far. Link to comment
