Ken H.
Well I just read an interesting article on 2012 economic growth in the USA coming from a source I hadn’t thought about – political action spending. The article was about how the media companies (in particular WPP Group) are expecting a banner year, estimating $4 billion (yes billion with a b) in income from now until the election. How corporations (who are now a person, thank you Supremes), that have been sitting on bundles of cash due to the recession and labour downsizing; are now posed to loosen their pocketbooks and spend large amounts of that cash through 501©(4), 501(c(6) and SuperPACs on trying to influence the fall vote in their favour. Everyone pulling in every direction. And also how that $4B unleashed will show up in ‘improved’ US GDP numbers. Crazy! I won’t post a link to the article here because it sites specific examples that would cross the no politics line here. Ah, the law of unintended consequences! Link to comment
Quinn
Well, at least we're not going to be totally dependent on phone apps for growth in GDP. ---- Link to comment
