JamesW
Is it true that if you remove the CCP and disconnect the O2 sensor and install a 1K pot where the CO potentiometer connects that you have, in effect, a motorcycle that is the exact equivalent of the same model as it was sold in countries other than the US ? Oh, forgot to mention removal of the catalytic converter. Are there any other differences that effect state of tune of '94 R1100RS bikes sold in the US and elsewhere? I don't know if that model had a charcoal canister or not. Link to comment
lkchris
Don't automatically assume that cat converters are never fitted in other countries. Also, charcoal canister has zip/zero/nada affect or even relationship to engine tune. Link to comment
dirtrider
Afternoon James That's a real difficult thing to answer as you have a very early (pre 1995) S model. Most of the early 1100s like the RT & R had a Motronic that didn't contain a CCP or multiple fueling maps. How the 1100S fits in here I can't say. If your bike has both a CCP & a 3 wire 3 terminal plug for adding a trim pot then yes what you want to do is possible. If your bike doesn't have a CCP or trim pot connector then you are out of luck. Also you can't just use a standard 1K pot, it must be a 3 terminal linear "trim pot". If your bike has both a CCP & Co. trim pot connector then you remove the Cat & CCP you probably don't even need a trim pot as it will default to a full rich @ idle & that isn't all that rich to idle good just too rich at idle to pass most emission inspections. (at least first try operating it with no CCP & no trim pot). Link to comment

tallman
James, For all things RS I spent a lot of time there w/my RSL. Good luck. Link to comment
breyfogle
US spec '94 RS's did not have a CCP. When Oilhead bikes first came out, the RS was the only model available and the Motronic did not have to know what bike it was controlling. When the GS (I think) came out in '95 a CCP was added to tailor the Motoronic to the different bikes. Link to comment
JamesW
Hmmm, that's interesting. I wonder if the '94RS had a catalytic converter? No ccp or cat would not be a bad thing, im(humble)o. Link to comment
