Mike
Is there a scientific name for the full moon? Or is it just a "full moon"? Link to comment
Rougarou
As I just finished an Astronomy course two quarters ago, I don't recall it being called anything but a full moon. But as courses go, I did a data-dump once it was over and could be completely wrong. Link to comment

tallman
Is there a scientific name for the full moon? Or is it just a "full moon"? To distinguish Earth's Moon, from another moon, some astronomers will capitalize it as a proper noun. The Moon is Earth's satellite. So scientifically (astronomically speaking) if you want the name then, IMO, it is the Moon and a full Moon would be what you're looking for. Not all agree with this pov. Link to comment
