Paul Mihalka Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Perfect day. Temps 40 to 60 in December! Light overcast, the best for riding. No shade/sun/shade of a tree lined road of a sunny day. Comfy breakfast at home to leave past rush hour and lowest temps. Looking for more Virginia little roads. 30 miles of Skyline Drive, goes up to 4.000 feet. Some snow on the side of the road and some minor icy patches. Lots of winter gravel. Easy does it, no problem. A bowl of soup for lunch, back home before 5. Good day! Virginia back country: Skyline Drive, the messiest spot:
Highway41 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Like that. Think I'll do the same tomorrow. Bill
jb11GSA Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Thanks for the share Paul... Been so nasty here in Ohio, keep them pics coming; it's the only thing keeps us going. Looking forward to better weather and temps.
johnnash Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 wouldn't want to come flying around that corner on skyline drive.I was out yesterday by Camp David, snow up there also Paul.
barryNmarin Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Ah yes, what a lovely day you had! That icy corner could have been way too exciting but luckily you are smart as well as fast. Thanks for the pixs.
BIWOZ Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Thanks for sharing. I actually love that second photo ... we don't get any ice or snow here ...
Paul Mihalka Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 Just in case, that second photo: In the picture it looks like all ice on the road, but it was mostly wet and lots of gravel. Not as bad as it looks.
