BTW, the cause of the cracks IS NOT over tightening- that's only secondary and a convenient smokescreen / excuse. The root cause is a grossly inappropriate plastic for a pipe (wedge) thread - the plastic predictably yields over time at minimal pressures because it is the wrong type, not reinforced, too thin and a few other things. Pretty much any moron plastics engineer could have spotted this coming..Its just a clear demo that BMW doesn't do decent peer level engineering reviews before building stuff. Link to comment
