My daughter transferred to FSU this fall. I was planning on riding up for parents weekend on 10/28 and riding up to the Barber museum on Sunday. Can you recommend any routes?

If you are not in a hurry, here's what I'd do to get to FSU.

 

Take 27 through Clewiston and Lake Placid (eat lunch at Buddy's Deli in Lake Placid - a mile off the highway in the center of town but most excellent). Turn left before you get to Sebring on 66 to Zolfo Springs, then north on 35/17 (sloooowww part of the trip), picking up 570, then 4W to 75N, to 54W - your goal is to get to the Sun Coast Parkway which is a nice stretch of road. At the Northern end of the Parkway, take 98 over to 19, which becomes 27, and you are set all the way to Tally.

 

Make sure you visit Tallman - he's got the town wired.
