gordiet
Is there a way to turn off the service reminder on the dash of my 08 RT? My 06 doesn't have this problem. I do my own maintance. Am I going to have to take it to a dealer a 100 miles away just to get it turned off? Link to comment
dirtrider
Afternoon gordiet Not OFF but way out in the future. Most dealers can’t or won’t do it for you but someone with a GS-911 & willing to give up one of their limited serial number inputs can set way out there (something like 49,000 miles & 3 years ahead). David13
I would do it for you, but you are a bit far away. Maybe there is someone in your area with a GS911. That will do it. Link to comment
I812
Mine says "service March 2012". Is that not a bit early? Link to comment
gordiet
We are a few miles apart but....I'm going to RIDE the bike to our joint in Yuma AZ in August and ride my other RT back to home in WA. Maybe I could arrange a time and ride to your place and get it done? I can't find or know anyone around here that will do the deed. Thanks... GT Link to comment
David13
You could. A detour into Los Angeles might add 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or more hours to your trip. I wonder if there aren't some dealers along the way that don't charge to reset it. There is one in Modesto, where the sales manager posts a lot on Pashnit. http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14951 That may be more accessible on the road to Arizona. If you are going thru' Santa Cruz there is Motech there who will do it. Otherwise, I can do it. dc Link to comment

ccii42104
Get a GS911 with Blue Tooth. Totally awesome! You can tether to a laptop (window based) for all kinds of things or via the Blue Tooth to a smart phone. I have been using mine since 08 on both my 07 GT and 09 RT, as well as my buddy's S and RT! I like the features when i sync the throttle bodies on the RTs. Seriously, check it out. PM me if you have any questions. http://www.hexcode.co.za/ Link to comment

Beemershop (US distributor for the GS911) is going to be at the MOA Rally next week so I was thinking of picking one up & bringing it home. Didn't know it would help throttle body syncing - what's the secret there? Link to comment
David13
Ask Beemershop when you are there. They may reveal more than we know, at this time. dc Link to comment
bobbybob
I wonder if there aren't some dealers along the way that don't charge to reset it. dc OMG!!! ROFL Yes, this little "enhancement" is there for only one purpose: to generate more service work for the dealers, whether it be actually doing maintenance work, or charging $50++ just for resetting the reminder. If you found a dealer who did it for free, well I guess he didn't get the memo. Link to comment
