How do you find the ESN on an OEM Sirius Radio (2011 R1200RT)?

Yup. this is one of the few new RT's that actually came with a built-in BMW Motorrad Sirius radio in the audio package. Found the puck up under the windshield dash (with no radio ID # on it), and can toggle the wonder wheel on the left grip so I'm at the Sirius radio itself, but can't find channel "0" where you usually find the ESN. Skips from channel 162 to channel 2, thereby not revealing its ESN. Rest of the channels show "un-sub" when you toggle through them. Dealer wants to help, but has never delivered a 2011 RT with a built-in Sirius radio, so knows nothing. If I can just toggle to "audio/settings/sirius radio/ESN, I can call it in to Sirius for the registratio0n/initialization. Called in the VIn # to them, but they had no record of it to associate with an ESN.

Anyone out there been through this? If so, RSVP. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, thanks to Realworld51 over on the K1600 forum I got my answer.

I activated the Sirius service on my '11 RT myself right in my driveway, following the step-by-step procedure in the satellite radio section of the audio manual:

- display the ESN on the LCD

- call the supplied toll-free number and provide your personal billing info plus the ESN

- service activated

Easy and worked without any hitches or other equipment needed.

He very kindly sent me the missing pages from the audio manual pertaining to activation of the sirius radio which made all the difference.

Answer was: you simply press the "set button" repeatedly until you get to "ESN", then use the wonderwheel/multicontroller on your left handlebar grip to click through two positions to get the entire twelve digit identification number you will need with the Sirius operator so you can activate your radio. That's it. . . . . . . . . . .no waiting to have the dealer hook it up to his computer. . . . . . .no fancy smoke and mirrors. . . . .10 minutes, and you're done.

Hope this saves someone else the time and trouble I went through. And here's the best part: the entire first year is already pre-paid by BMW. Nice to know that my $20,000 buys something!!!!!

In my limited experience, and that of my dealer, this is the only one I know about. Wish I could be more helpful.
