Jack Herbst
For those traveling in the Eastern part of our state, a lot of road closures are in force. Highway 191 (the old Coronado trail/Devils highway) is closed from just north of Clifton to north of Springerville. Highway 60, 260, and many others are also closed. Please check before riding in this area to get latest information. AZDOT Jack Link to comment
johnlt
Also, many of the dirt roads in AZ are closed. Primary reason is fire danger but in fact is is probably due to all the equipment being sent up to the Wollow fire leaves nothing in the other areas so they need to be very conservative so are closing most of the national forests. I just rode those roads you mentioned on the scenic way to Torrey and it was beautiful. Lots of wildlife on 191 though, cows, longhorns, deer, pheasants(I think) and lots of elk. Link to comment
David13
John I saw the fires on tv yesterday. The reporter was in ... Springerville ... and there were flames all around in the background. I know that's where you were on the way to Torrey. The fires are so sad. But so common. dc Link to comment
