allynr1100
I am going to get a Doran TPM for my 1100RT and wondered how/where others who have had this system mounted the display unit. Link to comment
AndyS
I use a garage and tyre pressure gauge. If I feel the handling is at all wonky, I get out my tyre pressure gauge, If it feels good, besides my pre ride check I don't worry about it. Andy Link to comment
azccj
I have the Doran TPM on my 1150RT. Mine is mounted next to my GPS, which is mounted between the handle bars. I've used the same model TPM on my Moto Guzzi for the last 3 years. They work great on both bikes. The reason I have TPMs on both bikes has nothing to do with not wanting to get down on the floor with a tire pressure gauge. A TPS will save your butt by alerting you if you puncture your tire doing 70 miles. This is just what happened to me last September when on the first day of a 7 day cross country trip the TPM started flashing and beeping. I calmly watched as the pressure began dropping about 1 PSI every 5 seconds. Which was enough time to find a shady spot off the road to plug the tire. Then for the rest of the trip the TPM let me know that my repair wasn't totally leak free. Link to comment
Phil50
I've found that kicking the tyres coupled with long term kick vs digital tyre pressure gauge comparisons is pretty accurate. The trick is to swing your leg at exactly the same rate that you did last time and gauge how far it bounces off the tyre. The first few times you use this technique you need to calibrate your leg by comparison with a digital pressure gauge. If you are in any doubt double check with the gauge. Link to comment
