I thought u Spies fans would be estatic after his podium in Catalunya.... but nary a peep. I must admit I thought he would go better on a proven factory bike but so far that has not been the case. Lorenzo is going very well on a bike that is not as good a package as the best Honda. I think he could be another to make the Ducati fast cause the two guys on the factory dukes at the moment are off the pace. The front end handling problems.... Well at the moment only one guy has been able to ride around it.... Most of the time.... And he is riding a Honda this year ;)

The race was so boring that the announcers started talking about the weather at a different track.

I thought it was going to get interesting when it looked like we'd get rain, but that didn't pan out.

Casey sure was flying. Nobody could get anywhere near him.

I'm a racing fan. Spies did great.

Casey flies, Spies did good, and it must be boring if the most important sequence is the fight for ninth place.

The Moto 2 race was more interesting. Most interesting to me was the crash involving Simon and Sofuoglu. I went back and forth several times frame by frame. No question Kenan ran into Julian, but what was most interesting was seeing the progression of a bad high side. Simon's rear tire went into the air, came down, grabbed, the whole rear of the bike deflected sideways and, like a big spring, threw him wayyyy up in the air. Shocking, how the bike frame did that. Shame he's so injured, too. I don't see it as anything but a racing incident; although there was chatter about Kenan trying to pass, I didn't see that in the many replays I ran...I saw two different lines intersect.

I know you do . I don't want to put the kiss of death on him but I think he is going to have a big year ;)

I thought Ben rode well. It was his best ride of the season and he looks more comfortable riding that type of bike. I think he could run with the leaders within a few more races. He wasn't losing ground to Lorenzo by any significant amount.

Stoner looks good but he's going to have to hold it together with Lorenzo riding so consistently. All that work on Sunday to close the gap a measly 5 points...

Rossi is getting more from the Ducati each race but it's going to take a miracle to get up with Stoner and Lorenzo.

I feel for Pedrosa. I felt that it would be his year. Not ever now, I think.

I can't wait for 2012 when the litre bikes return. Then we'll see who's made of what.

Linz :)

Stoner is on fire, the rest of the pack is reduced to watching him motor away. I think a lot of teams are already focusing on 2012 and the return to the bigger bikes.....but I was glad to see Ben do so well.

...ten minutes on fast forward and didn't miss a thing.
A friend of mine watches NASCAR that way. When the safety car comes out he backs it up to watch the carnage.

At least the AMA Pro Racing guys gave a good performance up in Wisconsin. I think I'll watch the first Superbike and second Daytona Sportbike races again.

I heard em say they changed the bike to give him more room to move around???

Anyone have the details?

You wouldn't know it from listening to Ralph Sheheen and Scott Russell.

Those guys have an incredible ability to turn a good race into something that actually sucks out your will to live.

I love the way they sit there quietly at the start, not saying anything until at all. That's just journalistic brilliance.

In his defense, I think Scott would be decent as a sidekick to another good commentator. Ralph is completely useless. He MUST have pictures of the SpeedTV execs with farm animals...there is absolutely no other explanation for why he still has a job.

Spies persuaded Yamaha to sponsor a bike (as in bicycle) racing team in Texas. We know someone that races in that division and he knows a roommate. Well you get the picture.

Word is, Yamaha will not allow Spies to make any changes to the bike, but for this race they allowed him to change the seating position to give him more room with his elbows. Seemed to have made a difference.

Roommate says this is strictly off the record. :-)
