Whip is a pretty smart fellow actually

I want to start off by saying I love my GT. It has taken me all over the Western US, but it is a terrible commuter bike for me, and the maint costs are making impractical to keep using for that sort of stuff. Plus, I have to admit, I am a Hoon. Like it or not, the GT gets me close to in trouble every time I ride it.

So I set off to get a second moto. Laura also want to ride pillion more so we started looking at other options. I kept coming back to this ride.

We took Larry's 02 up to Fish Lake and had a wonderful ride. It fit us both, it had enough power to be a blast in the twisties, and the luggage we need to ride two up.

So this past weekend I found one on Craigslist for a really good price and decided to get it.

The latest moto in the stable.

So Tewks, now you have the rest of the story.

Hey you already posted about this.

And a pic to boot.

Gratutious post.

Ban him.

And Whip for suggesting this Tomfoolery.

;)

Enjoy.

I think if Laura had a Ducati Monster she would be real happy too!

Just saying. Then when you are on commute she can be out riding.

But otherwise nice bike!

Nice Tommy! With the GS line, it seems i've been drawn to the previous gen bikes. Wanted the R100GSPD badly after you couldn't buy one at the dealer. :dopeslap:

Good luck with it!

I agree. This is my third one and wish I hadn't sold the first. I've blown thru a handful of bikes in the last few years and this one does it all and for not much money. It's got a pair of Ohlins, a custom seat and aftermarket wind screen since this pic.

You already had one of these. Isn't life too short to ride the same bike twice?

Never!!

Realizing you shouldn't have sold something and then replacing it is sometimes the best way to go about it.

Hence the reason my R1100RT is still in my garage.... I just skipped the middle step and kept the cash I would have wasted. :) Oh wait, that money was spent on the R1100S experiment. LOL.

The second day I had mine I rode it 900 miles to meet RoadScholar at his home in NC.

I accused him of keeping this great bike from me. I had no idea how comfortable and capable it was.

I have almost 60,000 miles on it in two years.

.....and be very careful using the word smart when referring to me, I have a reputation to protect.

;)

Gar and I are partial to them. Mine just turned over 99,000 when we pulled into the driveway from Torrey. I still love it.

Glad you are happy with the ride. That being said, never, never, acknowledge that the Whipster may be smart. Pretty sure that's a serious rule violation.

I'm very grateful for that little R1100S experiment. I'm just waiting for you to experiment with a GS so I can pick that one up when you are done. I'm afraid I'm going to be waiting a long time. :D
