Ron_B
OK, this isn't exactly a Ride Tale, just a few disjointed observations and pics from my trip: 1. God I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world! 2. Major downer about Kathy, but times like these show what kind of community/family we belong to. When I had my Stroke, my friends on this board, both local and from around the country were there for me. Kathy was one of those friends. To see the outpouring of love and concern for a friend in trouble, well, some of us are not really surprised. Major kudos to the local gang, Steve, Karen, E.B. Mike and Dennis. No surprises there either. 3. God I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world! 4. My new packing system seems to work for me. Pelican case for my Bipap, two cheap waterproof tackle boxes and two 20 liter roll top dry bags mounted on the panniers. All only 6 1/2 inches high. As the riding day goes on and my bad leg gets worse, I switch to mounting with the bike on center stand and have much less trouble swinging said leg over. Yay! 5. God I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world! 6. Chili verde on eggs for breakfast at the Sunglow in Bicknell. Wow! 7. God I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world! 8. Riding in a dust/sand storm in New Mexico. Not so wow. 9. God I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world! 10. Larry and Louise are grand hosts and the Whipville Beasts (Rusty, Monty, Neumann, Rhoda and Rita) are better than an alarm clock. 11. God I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world! 12. San Antonio River Walk is Über cool. Next time I'll remember to take pics Oh, did I say that I love going to Torrey and hanging with some of the greatest people in the world? OK, no shots of Torrey, but here’s a few shots I took after leaving Torrey for Whipville Texas: Glen Canyon Moki Dugway Monument Valley Four Corners Monument. Standing in 4 states. San Antonio Torch of Friendship The Alamo The scariest of the Whipville Beasts - Rita! Lazy weekend for Rusty, Monty and Neumann. Mrs Whip cooks a magnificent Armenian dinner. I almost stayed another day for the leftovers! Link to comment
