Hey everyone.I am looking for a trunk with a backrest for a 99'RT.Something that comes on and off with no problem. The backrest must be comfy. What do you think ? Thanks.

Givi ... holds more than the stock top case. My wife wears an Olympia mesh jacket that has armor in the back (just a foam pad) and says she doesn't need a backrest ... quite comfy for her and we do some loooong days on the road.

I have a Givi Maxia on my '04 1150 RT.

A quicklock plate replaces the rear rails, and is a doddle to fit/remove.

Available with accessory backrest.

Less than 1/2 price of the BMW topbox, and is 100% usable space.

Regardless of the brand top-case, I have to agree with the "no backrest needed" thought, if your passenger is wearing gear with a back pad. The pad on a bakcrest would just be wassted money in that case. If the jacket does not have armor, then a thin backrest would be all that is needed.

I have a GIVI V46 that is easy on/off. It also has the top rack for securing a small duffel, etc. I use it on both the 1100RT and the little 650GS. They do make larger ones. My wife like leaning back against it while riding on the 1100.

How about just the backrest? We are more interested in my wife's comfort than storage. Is one kind better than another?
