Scribner
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/parenting/detail?entry_id=87389 Very interesting story, sad the pilot took his life. Link to comment
upflying
The major difference is the forced water landing in the JAL incident was pilot error. JAL screwed up, Sullenberger is a hero. I was 14 and lived in Oakland in 1968. I don't recall the crash. Link to comment
Scribner
Sully is a hero and was placed in a tough situation. I did not intend to impune Sully's pilot skills. Link to comment
DaveTheAffable
Sully is a hero and was placed in a tough situation. I did not intend to impune Sully's pilot skills. I didn't take that you were saying anything negative about Sully, or trying to make a direct comparison. But I can see how some might interpret it that way. No Prob! Move along... A different set of circumstances, but VERY interesting. Lot's of back story, and thanks to the Japanese cultural interest in photography, lots of pictures. I'm a bit of an aviation buff. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
