dtpetty
A friend just changed the fuel filter on his '04 1150RT. He is now unable to get lines reconnected. He is many miles away, so I am unable to look at them in person for the moment. I do remember having the same trouble when I owned the same bike, but I cannot for the life of me remember how I finally solved it (Yes I'm over 55 ). Anybody have a trick for getting them together? (I know about the aftermarket replacement options. Don't need that advice right now, thanks.) Link to comment
Boffin
The o-ring on the male half can be a swine to get past the opening. I use a thin smear of vaseline (petroleum jelly) on the male half to ease the connection. Andy Link to comment

dirtrider
Morning dtpetty Is he holding the triggers down when pushing them together? If not that can impede re-insertion as well as damage the “O” rings. Some fuel additives can cause the “O” rings to expand when exposed to air so maybe dry them in the sun for a while or remove the “O” rings and place in a plastic bag then in the freezer for a while. The lube the “O” rings mentioned in the posts above is also a good move. Link to comment
dtpetty
Thanks all. After I pondered some more, decided that's surely what I did. I have advised him. Link to comment
