TEWKS
I’m patiently waiting for a call from my dealer to get a demo on one. I believe they are only getting one or the other. (GT or GTL) Love the Vermillion Red GT, but there is only thirteen hundred dollars separating the two bikes. I think the better deal is with the GTL. Opinions please. Red GT Or Blue GTL Pat Link to comment
Jerry in Monument
Of course I will not be venturing from CO to FL for the debut, but when I was buying my '96 RT from BMW of Denver a couple of weeks ago, the salesman said they have 27 K1600's pre-sold. Personally, if it we me, I would wait at least one model year. Awesome looking bike tho. Blue. Without question. Link to comment
TEWKS
If interested, a Review on the MOA site with some really nice pics. Pat Link to comment

Red GT Or Blue GTL Pat Pat, I think you need to ride them, or at least sit on them, before deciding. From the reviews I've read, the GTL is more softly sprung than the GT. If the GT's riding position suits you, I'd think the GT would be a better choice, but I suppose that really depends on how you plan to ride it (solo, two-up etc.). Link to comment
tallman
John, Maybe. Will look at the real world schedule and decide. Link to comment
TEWKS
Thanks Mark/Jerry! I cleaned up the RT & took a short ride this afternoon. A test ride on the GT/GTL is gonna have to really impress. D.B. Cooper Link to comment

motorman587
Ron-Tim and anyone else, Called the dealership yesterday, was told that debut will be Friday, no touching. Saturday and she did not sound 100% about demo rides but stated that would happen Saturday and the rest of the week. She took my name, which is a good sign I think. lol Link to comment
Ron-M
I called as well. She told me that Demo rides for sure from Saturday on.....If I go it will more than likely be Saturday. Link to comment

TEWKS
Sorry, drifting again. After looking at that link a bit more I see that the pics are from a BMWST board member. I remember Mr. Bense because he often posted about the new stuff coming out of Berlin. Pat Link to comment

motorman587
just got a response on facebook. "We will have demo rides that following week." So does that mean not on Saturday?? I have been duped by dealers in the past. Daytona BMW and Dothan Victory, where I was told yes on demo rides. Once you get there they say "What are you talking about?" Daytona BMW was I wanted to test ride a LT and once I got there I was told they were to busy because of bike week. Even though I confirmed over the phone. Victory in Dothan I wanted to ride the Vision. Once I got there and was told the only test ride I got if I signed the dotted line, meaning I am buying it.............wtf Link to comment
tallman
John, Probably no go for me. Son in Law graduates for Engineering school and there is a party that afternoon. If they let me demo one home, maybe. Link to comment
motorman587
Probably no go for me either. Never got a response if they are doing demo rides on Saturday, so I will go teach for Al and make some $$$............... Link to comment
Ron-M
A friend of mine called Eurocycles for the scoop. They are going to have the unvailing Friday night at their big shingdig....Sodas and snacks all around.....On Friday night they will be drawing seven names from a hat. Those seven people will be the winners of a demo ride on Saturday. After Saturday though the bikes will be available to the public for demo rides. I am pretty sure Wade, Bruce, and I will be heading down Saturday anyway. Link to comment
motorman587
Ron, Thanks for the information........with that I will skip out, and teach.........enjoy and take a lot of pictures......very interested....... Link to comment
RichEdwards
Actually the SNEAK debut of the K1600 was this morning at Eurocycles in Tampa. We always have a First Saturday of the Month Pancake Breakfast sponsored by Eurocycles and the BMW Riders of Tampa Bay, and this one coincided nicely with the National Debut of the K1600. So Aaron, the owner, brought out the new bike and held a raffle. The winner got to test ride the bike for the day!!! There will still be a big celebration on Friday evening (May 13) with the K1600 being the guest of honor. My impression of the bike....Very nice! Link to comment
