tallman
Mad Mullet Brewing Co My future son-in-law is one of five finalists in the Dockers Man Grant "Wear the Pants". (There were 3,000 plans submitted) Please follow the links to vote for his plan which would start a micro brewery. He is working on his PhD in criminal justice and brewing on a small scale now. He has visited micros that are operating, knows what it takes and is a doer, not just a dreamer. There isn't a microbrewery for hundreds of miles so it is also a bonus for the community. If he wins I'll have a contest here to name a seasonal brew. Your vote could be the one that wins the big enchilada and changes the future for them. THANKS! Only 5 days to vote. You can vote every day. Link to comment

CoarsegoldKid
Is there going to be a breath test machine for alcohol. I tried to vote but it hung up. Link to comment
Selden
Not sure if I voted successfully or not, but with a name like "Mad Mullet," if it's a go, your future son-in-law should consider being a sponsor of the annual Mullet Toss at the Flora-Bama lounge. Link to comment
tallman
Great idea. Once you see a mullet fly 150 feet you're ready for a beer. Link to comment
Lets_Play_Two
I voted My brother-in-law has owned a microbrewery in southern California for 12 years. He's a doer too, http://sanpedrobrewing.com/ Link to comment

Jake
Vote #477 in the books. There was a nice article (Rolling Stone or Esquire) on Microbrews recently. I had no idea that we have Billy Carter to thank for the post-prohibition rebirth of independent breweries. David's youngin' Jonathan is a co-founder of Monday Night Brewing based in Atlanta. Definitely worth taking a look at what those boys are up to. Keep some cold ones in the fridge for me... Link to comment
tallman
Thanks Jake. Regardless of the outcome of the vote they will continue to pursue an expansion of the dream. I definitely had the Baker conglomerate in mind as a resource for the future. Best wishes. Link to comment

Fubar
Voted. I will always vote for a new microbrewery.Oh, hell yeah. We need good beer to drink while we wait for our butts to un-numb. Why the heck doesn't Tally have a micro yet? Heresy in a college town! Add my vote. Well, I would if I used facebook, but I won't. Hope mine isn't the decider. Bon chance, Joshua. Fritz Maytag (yes, that Maytag) is the father of micros in the US. Anchor is the brewery. And of course, homebrewers everywhere need to get their props. Cheers! Link to comment

tallman
Thanks to all. He finished third, beaten by some whack jhob who wanted to do good things for the environment. Go figure. But, we learned a lot. Just wish that the voting hadn't coincided with finals and graduation at FSU. He lost support of a couple groups due to timing who related that for once, they put school ahead of beer. If the voting was a month earlier I truly think he would've hit 10,000 instead of 2,000. The campus paper and the local paper both reneged on coverage which didn't help and the local brew columnist was off this stretch. Some day a message will be posted inviting y'all to a brewfest. Thanks again. Link to comment
