Beaker
Hello everyone. Name's Andy. I bought my R1200GS new in September 2005 and toured Europe on it every year since. We're off to Spain and the Pyrenees this autumn leading a group of three other couples and we can't wait! The Beemers never let me down (touch wood) and I love it to bits. It's affectionately known as Beaker, thus my forum name. My wife is a bit of a bike nut and she positively encourages me to buy more of them! Unfortunately the garage is getting a bit full up at the moment. Presently I own a 1975 Kawasaki Z1-B (bought new in 1975, which I totally restored two years ago0, a 1977 Moto Guzzi T3 Calkifornia (purchased 2006), a 1996 Honda 650 SLR (purchased 2005), a 1998 Honda VFR 800 F1 (purchased new), a 2004 Kawasaki VN800E2 Drifter (purchased 2007) and a 2006 Honda CBF1000 a-6 (bought last week)! I'm lucky to live in an old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere that dates back to the 14th Century. If anybody is in the vicinity at any time please call in for a cuppa tea! Cheers, Andy Link to comment

Your wife is a definite keeper, and obviously very smart and devious: I suspect she is working you toward either a bigger house or bigger barn for the toys... Link to comment
Beaker
Hi Andy, Welcome. I'd like to see the bikes if you have some pictures. Shame to spend all that effort and not share the fruits of your labors in pictures. Thanks for the very warm welcome. Yes, my wife is a very special person. She takes more pleasure in looking at shiny tool kits than new shoes! Lol! If any of you are planning to visit/tour the UK do look us up and we'll take you on a few rides of the lovely Exmoor national Park which is very close by. Anyway, pictures you want? Okay, here are a few! Link to comment

Rockrib
Andy, Welcome aboard from New Hampshire, New England (New World). Here you will find all the answers to any and all questions you may have. I have. Perhaps steer clear of synthetic oil vs. mineral. Things seem to get heated and very, very technical. Otherwise, a font of knowledge. Link to comment
