johnlt Posted April 24, 2011 Share Posted April 24, 2011 I’m thinking of leading a “partial” continental divide ride in September. One of the best sections of that ride was the three day section from Silver City NM to Del Norte Colorado. Day one is the longest at about 250 miles so you need a large tank and/or an aux fuel supply. It goes from Silver city to Grants NM and is not difficult but beautiful. Day two is the most isolated and goes from Grants to Espanola through some really isolated sections with some rocky climbs and descents. Day three is from Espanola to Del Norte and gets up close to 12K feet before descending into the valley. It is a great ride. Could either camp or do hotels (did hotels the first time). I’m posting to see if there is any serious interest in doing this ride. Link to comment
