Another BMW rally starts 45 mi north the day the UnRally ends

If you want to stick around and ride some more, you might want to join us for the 34th annual Dan'l Boone rally which starts the day the UnRally is over, on August 12.

 

It is held in Boone, NC which is about 45 miles north of Little Switzerland. Just get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and head north to Boone.

 

It is sponsored by the Carolinas BMW Motorcycle Owners Association and draws about 200 each year.

 

Boone is a college town (App State) and there is a lot to do, not only in town but also riding in northwest NC, SW Virginia and eastern Tennessee.

 

It's a laid back rally, lots of war stories are told in the HQ tent, lots of tires are kicked and we have a bunch of self-guided ride sheets including some dual sport routes.

I'll be up on my RT! I don't have a classic to enter for judging or I would bring that.

 

The door prizes are starting to come in and we just found out that our regular people will be catering the NC BBQ dinner on Saturday which is outstanding. (both are included in the rally fee.)

I'm sitting in Charlotte right now. 97 degrees. Just looked at NWS Boone and it is 78.5 degrees. Wish I was there now!

Looks like the weather will cooperate! The rally starts this Thursday... the weather during the entire rally will be in the 77 degree range. Should be fun. Come join us!!
