Better yet, we need a fire pit for a bonfire and BEER. Highs are forecast to be in the mid to high fortys. Lows are forecast to be a Three Dog Night.

Hot toddy's, I remember some really COLD nights at DVD and a campfire was only a marginal help :=D

BEER!

WHERE??

At Pool?

Dinner at Capital Reef Restaurant? If yes, time?

I will want an XL T-Shirt if available

Dinner happens when people get hungry and wander down to a restaurant.

Piece of cake. Rain or shine my Ipod is loaded with Country Hits that will last forever. Man I am getting choked up already :) Then some Alice in Chains just to get my head right AFTER the sad songs..

Had to install a Scotts steering damper on the old Vstrom to keep it from wiggeling in pursuit of faster BMW's..

I meet Brian in downtown Ely for some beer and catching up  on wednesday and then on to Torrey thursday.

I'm buying a snowmobile suit. 61 is the low around here, not the high. :P

First night stop Frankfort KY. A bit wet but all is good. DrafterMike's tomorrow. I love traveling...

I'm claiming old age and stupidity but me and my riding partner will be coming to Torrey the weekend of the 27th, not the 20th :P

No logical explanation but too much planning to change now. You'll have to wait until the fall to see the KTM,

You should've asked Killer the date. He is very nice about answering that question.

One bed available at the Capitol Reef Inn, as my room mate has had to cancel. Your cost would be about $58 for 2 nights, fri and sat.

Kathy and I won't be able to make Torrey....Sorry to miss old friends and others that we haven't met personally.....Next time........There will be a room at the Sandstone available for Friday and Saturday nights if needed.......

Got a call from the Chuckwagon last night. One room available--Queen bed no phone. We passed. Need two beds. We are booked at the Sandstone Inn. Great place on the edge of town with indoor hot tub and pool. Restaurant on site.

I just found out I have a room at the CW...they'd forgotten to let me know last fall, so there's a room available now at the Boulder View...I just canceled the BV room. Nice place.

Well, my plans have changed somewhat. I'm still coming but Katy decided she badly needed a mental health break and needed a roadtrip to see her Torrey friends so the RT is staying home and we'll be traveling in the Tacoma. The RT gets to come in September.

Leaving in the morning and looking forward to seeing everyone. Still at the Chuckwagon.

Noob here....

Just got a room at the CW...ground floor too.

So I cancelled at the Ho_Jo's which is closer to the park if anyone needs a room.

Leaving Thursday and hope to make it over the Sierras without problems.

I'm confused: she needs a mental health break but is coming with YOU? You don't really have a motorcycle, do you? No one's ever seen you on one at Torrey.

I should be coming in from Springerville via 191>163>261>95>24. Any words of wisdom on this route or suggestions of something totally different would be appreciated. They would all be new to me! Thanks.

Yes Mark, It defies logic doesn't it! It does pain me to leave the bike behind but Katy is a non-rider. Luckily, one doesn't need a motorcycle to have fun in Torrey. And by the way, no one has figured out how Suzanne puts up with your nonsense!

Arriving on the TRD :/ It will be good to see you two, bring the cards please

Barry, bring your helmets too, you can barrow my bike when you get here, I'll have to do a little work while in Torrey.

Hey Wade, that's a great offer and I'll probably take you up on it if I can sneak off for a ride. The cards are packed! It will be great to see you again.

Graydude is out. Sales numbers are to low to justify two nights out of the territory (or so my boss says). I'm number one on the reservation list for the fall at CW so keep you fingers crossed. Can I still get a tee shirt Whip? I'll just add Spring Torrey 11 to my list of poser events.

Well I couldn't stand to wait until Friday. Just added Thursday to my trip. I'll be at the Boulder View Thursday and Friday nights.

Hopefully there is a get together planned for sometime and the weather co-operates. Not sure if I'll go over the mountain on UT-20 or go around 15 to 70 to 24 but I'll wait to see the forecast for the 8000 foot level.

For those of you arriving on Thur like us, they're forecasting snowshowers for Torrey. Gonna make for an interesting ride. Hopefully that means it doesn't stick or accumulate and doesn't mean snow riding over the passes. Just a heads up to plan your routes accordingly. :dopeslap:

Oil changed, new tires and almost packed. Let's light this candle.

Remember that time you put brand new tires on your RT and 2000 miles later they were toast thanks to some high-speed shenanegains around the Lake Powell loop? Good times.

That beats putting brand new tires on your RT only to have the transmission splines strip ~350 miles later :dopeslap:

Never could get more than 4k out of the Z4's under normal conditions. Trying to keep up with Howard and Laney on the slow ride? Fugettaboutit. Let's hope the Pilot Road 3's grip as advertised in the wet.

I was planning on heading out after work on Thursday but I think I'll take the day off and leave in the morning. If I was taking the sidecar it would be a different story but I really don't want to get stuck after dark in the snow on the 2 wheeler.

"Howard", "Laney", and "slow ride" in the same sentence! Yeah, right!

Dang, I wish I was coming to Torrey. Maybe in the fall.

Many a throttle cables were stretched on that ride.

Not long after that Torrey trip, as the tall tales were being posted and people were talking about riding WFO some noob posted the question "How long can I ride at full throttle?" I can't remember who, but someone who had been on that "slow ride" responded "About 2 hours, then you have to stop for gas."

One more meeting in 15 minutes then I'm FREEEEE, yeehaw!

Bike is loaded, gassed, lawns are mowed, all systems are go for early AM start.

Well,

We are in Farmington, NM and picked up the NOAA weather forecast for the 4 corners region on our Subie WB radio. Not good at all :( !

We were heading to Torrey for the Meet for a couple of days then across to Ridgway, CO for a couple then Las Vegas, NM.

This storm system looks quite sucky and so we are bailing out and heading south for sunnier climes.

There is a room available at the Chuckwagon, just verified that with Michelle.

Call to reserve......
